Website Analysis
Is your website performing for you?
Are you getting enough subscribers?
Are you making enough sales?
Do you need more traffic?
Are you getting new clients through your site?
If you answered no to these, then it’s a high probability that your website needs a makeover.
And I don’t mean a new look either (although that may also be beneficial), I mean applying certain things to your website, to increase its performance for you.
Many of these have been determined through research eg
How long people will spend on your site if they cannot immediately find the answer to their problem, or the information they want.
(Answer : just 4 seconds for women, 8 seconds for men)
This means you only have 4 seconds to show your visitors that you can help them, before they leave to find a website that will help them.
The amount of website traffic that comes from search engines
(Answer : 80%)
Your site’s success can therefore depend on the search engine’s ranking your site highly, unless you market your site through other means.
If your site is not ranked highly in the search engines, then your site is probably not getting enough traffic to it. It is like a shop on a dead-end street with no passing traffic. People would only visit it if they heard about it somewhere, or you gave them a business card with your domain name on it.
Traffic is the lifeblood of a site – without it you won’t be getting many email subscribers, many sales or new clients.
And traffic mainly comes through search engines. If your site is not optimised for the keywords that people are using, then the search engines will place a site that is optimised, above yours in search results.
The Problem For Many Website Owners
The problem for many website owners is that although many web designers will make you a ‘pretty’ website, to your specifications, they are not business minded. They are techies and/or graphic artists. Your sites look great, then they don’t perform for you, and you let it go, thinking it’s not worth the trouble, it hasn’t worked.
A ‘pretty’ website is no guarantee of success. Like other trades and industries, website design for business has certain ‘rules’ to be followed – a formula that will maximise your return.
A successful website is one that gives you what you want from it, whether that be sales, a database, new clients, establish you as an authority in your field – whatever your criteria is.
How I Can Help
I know the ‘rules’ and can give you an unbiased analysis of your current website, based on your criteria.

Website Analysis Checklist
I not only analyse your website for you, I give you suggestions on exactly what could be done to improve it, and why. You will walk away with a blueprint for success.
This can be given to your web designer to implement, or do it yourself, or I can create a new site for you. It’s entirely your choice what you do with it.
I look at a website from 3 different perspectives – all are essential for its success.
From the site visitor’s perspective :
- How easy it is to find the information they need?
- Does your site answer their problem?
- etc
From the search engines’ perspective :
- Are all your main pages indexed?
- How important do the search engines think your site is?
- etc
From your perspective as the site owner :
- According to your purpose for the site, what exactly can be done to improve it?
